About Johnston Family of Arkansas
They came, pre-revolution, to face the struggles of a new country. Thanks to the
miracle of the internet their descendants now connect in cyberspace to honor their
memories. Each day more is discovered about these ancestors. The Johnstons
(Scots-Irish), Dougans (Irish), Busers (Swiss) and all the rest, as legend would have
it apparently mingled with native peoples, struggled with other immigrants to keep this
great nation free. Without exception, all family legends that have been researched to
date have proved to be true from the affiliation with Davy Crockett (Ridgway line), to
the "shook makers" and sawyers (Sargent, Johnston lines) of New England and Arkansas,
to soldiers of all lines, their hardships and joys have shaped the next generations.
Welcome cousins!
